GH Motorcycles G&B Finch at the Final Eastern Centre MX Championship

Wattisfield Hall mx was the final stop on the calender for the Eastern Centre Motocross Championship in 2015. The fast hard packed track situated just outside of Bury St Edmunds was in perfect condition for the weekends racing with the clay surface having just enough rain during the week to make the track really sticky with loads of traction for the morning qualifying sessions. Brad Woodroffe posted the 3rd fastest time in the session with a time of  01:32.829. Brad Tomlin was 5th quickest with a time of  01:33.026. Connor Hughes posted the 12th fastest time a 01:35.073  of the session and was very competitive on his 250 machine in the open class. Brendon Mayers had a problem with his transponder during qualifying but managed to sort it just in time to try put a decent lap in but then crashed whilst trying to put his one and only lap in so was only able to secure 15th place with a time of 01:37.112.

After qualifying all the riders on the day gathered on the start line for 1 minutes silence for fellow racer Tom Pattison who tragically lost his life at the previous round of the championship at Blaxhall mx track. The riders then proceeded to do a lap in honour out of respect for him.

Race 1 saw most of the GH Motorcycles G&B Finch team riders get off to decent starts, Brad Tomlin took off early in the race and established himself in 3rd early and would eventually finish there. Brad Woodroffe started in 8th and pushed his way back up to 4th but ran out of time to move any further up the order. Brendon Mayers posted a strong result and was feeling very confident on the day to eventually finish in 8th in race 1. Connor Hughes was always going to have a tough day being on the 250 with a very fast track but he managed to finish 13th. Race 2 was more of the same as race 1 although Brad Tomlin did grab the hole-shot and led the race for 3 laps but then lost 2 places and settled for a strong 3rd place. Brad Woodroffe was involved in some first turn carnage and could only make his way back up to 6th place after having a race long battle with GH Motorcycles G&B Finch team mate Brendon Mayers who then finished in 7th. Connor Hughes finished race 2 in 13th again after having to try fend off the bigger 450cc machines on his 250cc. Race 3 had Brad Woodroffe go down in the first turn again and then later collide with a lapped rider and crash again this time being more serious and leaving him unable to finish race 3. Brad Tomlin got a good start again and rode a consistent race to secure 4th and end the day with 3 top scoring rides. Brendon Mayers had one of his best rides of the season and crossed the line in 5th place. Connor Hughes unfortunately also ran into some problems during the race and was unable to finish.
