Josh Peters 1st Round, GT Cup at Mildenhall

Josh Peters GH Motorcycles

Team rider Josh Peters headed for Mildenhall last weekend to compete in the 1st round of the GT Cup. This was Joshes first race at a national level.

Qualifying went well with Josh placing the 3rd quickest lap time.

Saturday

Race One: Got off to a good start getting into the first corner in 3rd. A few mistakes throughout the course of the race put him back to 5th place. Lap times were very good.
Race Two: This race was a repeat of race one with Josh finishing 5th again.
Overall Josh rode very well however because he wanted it so bad it worked against him.

Sunday

Race One: A more relaxed Josh saw him 2nd into turn one and take the lead on the first lap! A crash during the race put him back to 5th once again.
Race Two: This race was how we were used to seeing Josh ride over the past month, gating second, by the end of lap one he was in the lead after 1st place made a mistake. With Josh now in the lead he got his head down and pushed on. Going wide on one corner dropped him back to second but managed to stay with the leader and was the closest anyone had been to him the whole weekend… the leader could not let up. Josh crossed the line 2 seconds behind him.
Finished 4th overall missing 2nd by 4 points and 3rd by 1 point.
Very pleased with Joshes performance as this was his first ever national mx a0nd proved to everyone in the last race that he has the speed and skill to mix it with the top riders… he was just too pumped in the other races and needed to slow down to go quicker
