1st & 2nd for GH Motorcycles Parker & Benstead at Lyng

Round 4 of the Eastern Centre motocross championships saw the series head to Lyng this weekend. The GH Motorcycles G&B Finch motocross team were in attendance with Luke Parker and Luke Benstead on the Husqvarna FC450 machines as well as Josh Keeble on the Suzuki RM-Z250 and Brad Tomlin on the Yamaha YZ450F.

Qualifying went well for our riders. 1st: Luke Parker, 4th: Luke Benstead, 13th: Brad Tomlin, 18th: Josh Keeble.

Race 1 saw the two Luke’s out front early on. Benstead would lead the race from start to finish and Parker managed a 3rd. Brad Tomlin finished 7th in this one, coming from starting just outside the top 10. Keeble had a DNF in this race.

Race 2 – Luke Benstead started out in 3rd place with Parker in 6th place. Luke Parker managed to fight his way through to the front by lap 9 and remained there to take the race win. Benstead moved up into 2nd on lap 1 however finished 3rd in this one. Josh Keeble managed a 19th this race, scoring 2 expert points! Brad Tomlin had a DNF this race.

Race 3 – Parker continued his dominance on the day, grabbing the lead straight away and never looked back! Benstead had a poor start for his standard, starting in 9th, however moved up the field quick to finish behind Parker in 2nd. Brad Tomlin finished 9th in the final race, starting around 13th position. Keeble had another DNF in this race.

Overall

  • 1st: Luke Parker – 70 points (3rd, 1st, 1st)
  • 2nd: Luke Benstead – 67 points (1st, 3rd, 2nd)
  • 12th: Brad Tomlin – 26 points (7th, DNF, 9th)
  • 25th: Josh Keeble – (DNF, 19th, DNF)

Championship after 4 rounds

  • 1st: Luke Benstead – 249 points
  • 3rd: Luke Parker – 174 points
  • 8th: Brad Tomlin – 130 points
  • 40th: Josh Keeble – 2 points

Special mention to Dr Shox suspension for his continued support and for fine tuning the factory KYB suspension with Luke Benstead and Luke Parker on Thursday at the compound!
