THE PIONEERING BIKE MANUFACTURER WILL BE THE OFFICIAL E-BIKE PARTNER FOR THE EVENT’S ANNIVERSARY 25TH EDITION
Husqvarna Motorcycles are proud to announce an exciting new partnership between Husqvarna Bicycles and the Erzbergrodeo. Fittingly for the iconic event’s 25th anniversary, Husqvarna Bicycles is the official e-bike partner of the 2019 Erzbergrodeo and will support Europe’s biggest offroad event with test rides, guided tours and a series of unique events.
The four-day-long Erzbergrodeo is the world’s hardest enduro event and the largest of its kind in Europe. A real challenge for the riders as well as their motorcycles. The Erzbergrodeo has been taking place near Eisenerz in Austria since 1995. From May 29 to June 2, 2019 Husqvarna Bicycles will be part of the challenge to conquer the infamous ‘Iron Giant’.
For four days, the Erzbergrodeo challenges the best extreme enduro athletes in the world. Stamina, strength and riding technique make the difference between victory and defeat. “When we learned about Husqvarna’s attempt to take on the e-bike market last year, we thought it made good sense to get the brand on board as our partner,” told Erzbergrodeo organiser Karl Katoch. “We are very pleased about this collaboration and we already have some exciting ideas for the future.”
Along with e-bike test rides and guided rides, there will be more events planned throughout the duration of the 2019 Erzbergrodeo. “We have also planned a Husqvarna Explorer Tour, during which we will ride the Iron Road Prologue track exclusively on e-bikes,” added Katoch.
From her part, CEO of PEXCO GmbH Susanne Puello is looking forward to next year’s event: “The Erzbergrodeo attracts participants from all parts of the world – ambitious amateurs, semi-professionals as well as sponsored riders, who are looking for a real challenge. It is the perfect opportunity to show what Husqvarna Bicycles are capable of.”
To coincide with the event, an introduction to Husqvarna’s first eMTB Apparel collection is scheduled to take place during that same weekend. Husqvarna eMTB pioneer Guido Tschugg is also going to participate: “The Iron Giant demands everything – and that’s the reason why this event attracts so many spectators each year.”
To launch this new partnership Husqvarna Bicycles and Erzbergrodeo have worked together to produce a short video starring Karl Katoch, Guido Tschugg and Junior SuperEnduro World Champion Kevin Gallas.
