Meet the Team

Gavin Hockey
Managing Director

Gavin started his racing career in 1979 at school-boy level and later progressed to British Championship level for Enduro, winning a British title – so he is truly qualified to understand and meet your off-road requirements.

He established GH Motorcycles in 1984 specialising in 125cc & under as well as off-road bikes. He later extended the range to include all types of 2-wheeled machines, but has now returned to his 35-year love of off-road machines.

Sylvia Hockey
Clothing department manager

As Gavin’s mother, Sylvia has supported him and his brother in their racing careers from the very beginning to the present day.

With over 35 years of experience in off-road clothing and equipment, she is fully equipped to assist with any general clothing and gear enquiries and is our longest serving employee here at GH Motorcycles.

Emma Longland-Smith
Admin Assistant

Emma makes sure that all the figures add up so that we can keep ordering the latest and greatest bikes and products to suit our customers needs from the best manufacturers out there.

Mark MacGregor
Parts manager

Blessed with a lifetime of parts experience, Mark can advise you on any parts under the sun for any bike out there and has the knowledge to ensure that you get the right part the first time.

Joe Phillips
Parts Apprentice

Joe used to help out on Saturdays when he was in school, being the real motorbike enthusiast he is. Officially joining our team back in 2018. He is currently undertaking a 3 year Suzuki parts apprenticeship, so he can give everyone who walks through our doors advise on parts and have the knowledge to get the parts they need. We’re sure in no time he’ll be a walking manual like Mark.

Kienon Carter

Kienon started at GH Motorcycles on 1 day a week updating new products on to the website, since then he has progressed into the full-time motorbike salesman and hopes to smash all the yearly targets.

Ryan Allison
Workshop Mechanic

Ryan is our dedicated workshop mechanic, with a real passion for motorbikes on and off the track. He was undertaking a 3 year Suzuki apprenticeship, yet still manages to maintain his British championship level motocross racing schedule. His talent on a motorcycle translates over to the tools and he has been fixing bikes since the age of 12.
